I love all you guys from Black Sabbath. No musical band or musical genre has made such a profound contribution to human culture, for the sake of human culture, music and art, in all the history of the world as Black Sabbath.
You all prevailed ever since the beginning, even when all odds were stacked against you. You did so immeasurably much starting out with so little.
Never Say Die! Black Sabbath are true Human Spirits and true Human Saints! Forever embedded into the historical legacy of the Earth, Black Sabbath!
RIP Ozzy!
RIP Ronnie!
Long live rock and roll!
Long live heavy metal!
And Blessed Be, Mr Butler, Mr Ward and Mr Iommi!!
A humble and reverent Thank You, from me to YOU!
I feel especially connected to Sabbath as I went to school in Aston. I walked past Geezers old house on my way home and Ozzy’s house to our sports field, and amazingly later in life I worked right opposite The Crown in Station Street where the band had their very first gig.
I wish more of Sabbath’s mid term material were better known, Spiral Architect, Megalomania and others are masterpieces. All my life people I met said, you’re from Birmingham aren’t you; you bet. God bless this band, RIP Ozzy. An important part of our lives.
Here in the UK every member of Seventh Fear have been inspired by Black Sabbath from our early teens onward. Before Ozzy passed we wrote and recorded our version of Paranoid as a tribute to Sabbath and now to Ozzy aswell. Only using the lyrics it is a dark power ballad and go’s down a storm live.
We’d like to thank all the guys in sabbath for the music and inspiration that steered us into rock music and made us what we are today.
Great article. Enjoy Geezer sharing the history and his memories of his mate Ozzy. Music and spirt lives on in all of us that these men gave us.
I feel so fortunate to have been able to have been in Aston from Arizona at Back to the Beginning. Thrill and honor of a life time to salute these gentlemen and salute this music.
As OZZY would say.
We Love YOU ALL !!!
It’s probably too much too ask, but I hope to see Geezer, Tony, and Bill perform again someway, somehow.
I grew up with Sabbath. Seen them many times. Bought Paranoid album when I was 10 yrs. Old. Now I’m 65 and still love the Sabs. Need I say more
I’ve enjoyed reading your book: Into the Void. Thanks for the memories.
