RIP Alvin Lee
Shocked and saddened to hear of Alvin Lee passing, one of the true greats and a major influence on Sabbath. The fastest guitar in the west. He was one of the few people that believed in Sabbath when we started out, and he got us our first major London gig, at the Marquee. A true gentleman and lovely bloke. RIP Alvin.
NAMM 2013 Stuff
I was at NAMM this past week, and posted a picture of myself on Twitter, check it out below:
Paranoid for Breast Cancer
Just saw the band Apocalyptica played Paranoid in support of Breast Cancer. Go check ‘em out, it’s a good cause…
Here’s what the band has to say about this: “To celebrate sales of 30,000 pink-ribbons we play ‘Paranoid’ (in Finland “play ‘Paranoid’” is the slogan people shout on every show for every band). For this campaign several known Finns have promised to do something unusual when the sales grow. Hope you’ll have fun with this and please take part in your local Pink Ribbon campaigns all over the world!!!”
Up the Villa Again!
I met Tom Hanks, a fellow Villa fan, and was greatly impressed by the Timbers Army, who gave Stan a minute’s ovation on 19 minutes. Thank you, Portland Timbers.
The photos above were taken byCraig Mitchelldyer/Portland Timbers. There are additional pictures and a story about myself and Tom Hanks here, plus a video from AVTV below, which is a teaser for a larger interview on the AVTV website.
