There are few words to describe my feelings when i found out what had happened on 5/16/10. To attempt to put it into words, it was a combination of dying on the inside/depression/anger. You were taken to soon, and i honestly think that you had so much more to give. You were, no, you ARE a Metal God, and your impact on everyone shall live on forever, especially the Horns \m/. I’ve been depressed for the past few days, but im slowly returning to normal. But i’ll always mourn over your death, but ill also remember what you’ve done for Metal. As i type now, i can’t help but tear up.
I love your music, whether its from Elf or Heaven and Hell. From now on, whenever i stick up the Horns, i’ll think of you first. If there is a heaven, which i hope there is, or any other kind of afterlife, you deserve to rest peacefully. And one day, i hope to meet you on the other side.
Rest in Peace Ronnie James “Dio” Padavona, 7/10/42 – 5/16/10
I have many great and wonderful memories of Dio.I remember his Holy Diver Tour when I was just a teenager. It was just like yesterday.I thank God for giving us the precious time we had with such a great and powerful singer. I thank God for the memories that I have of the Dio years.Although he is no longer with us,it’s these memories that will live on forever, for they cannot be taken away.

Today i read about the “Public Memorial Service For Ronnie” sadly its impossible to me go there, i hope it will be diffused by any means.
My best wishes, and rock forever!
Dear Ronnie, I´m your fan since i was eight years old. At that time my elder brother sat down with me and we listened prayerful to the “long live rock & roll” album. He was in the audience at the rockpalast gig in munich 1977 and was still captivated. I remember that Iwas totally hypnotized by your storming voice. Words are not enough to say what your music meant to me through a very sad youth. My beloved brother died from cancer when I was 12. Every time I heard your music, I could feel Michael with me. Seeing you on stage with all your power and energy was one of the most exciting things in my life. Thank you so much for your beautiful voice and your great music! Ihope you´ll meet my brother Michael in heaven, because I´m convinced that´s the place you are going to now! I will terribly miss you! Condulence to your wife and family and to everyone who loved you. Thank you, Geezer for your tender-hearted words!
My world shook when I heard the news and sometimes I still can’t believe it. The world lost a legend and also a great man. I am just a fan, so I can’t imagine the pain for his close friends and specially Wendy. I know you are a great support for here, Geezer, so be there for her if she needs you. I can”t be at the Memorial, but I will think of THE MAN and Wendy. I will miss him, but his legacy will live forever.

Dio can you hear me?
I am lost and so alone…
I’m askin’ for your guidance,
Won’t you come down from your throne?
I need a tight compadre
Who will teach me how to rock.
My Father thinks you’re evil,
But man, he can suck a cock.
Rock is not the devil’s work,
It’s magical and rad.
I’ll never rock as long as I am
Stuck here with my Dad…
Ronnie was a hero of mine.I saw him in DC in 1986,then with Black Sabbath in Atlanta on Dehuman tour.I have not only Heaven and Hell cd and dvd plus the Rhino live ablum plus holy diver live all great. Will this final bring the Black and Blue film out (1982 black sabb. blue oyster cult show.)LONG LIVE ROCK N ROLL
First and foremost, I want to say that I am sorry for the loss of your friend and fellow musician. Dio was the King of Rock and Roll!
I remember hearing Heaven and Hell when I went to visit my older brother. I recorded it and then when I got back to Texas, I bought it. Then I was lucky enough to see Dio play quite a few times over the years. Then, I was astounded when they played for free in Austin in 1994. I didn’t even know who they were setting a stage up for. I went around back and there was Ronnie James Dio! I got the nerve up to speak to him and he told ME, how glad HE was that I was there! Isn’t that something?! He then proceeded to put on one of the best shows that I ever saw! I really wanted to take our son, now 16, to see Heaven and Hell. It’s so funny that his friends and him think that we grew up with the greatest music and they wished that they were old enough to see the groups that we had. I would have to agree! Thanks for all the music over the years! You Rock!!
A terrible loss for Ronnie’s family & friends, a terrible loss for music………there will be no one even close to Ronnies abilities…..a sad sad time. My thoughts go out to his nearest & dearest.
I saw you open for Deep Purple with Elf, with Rainbow, and with Black Sabbath
on the Mob Rules tour. You were always gracious to your fans, a true gift
of kindness in a swirling world of uncertainty.
Thank you for giving your love to us all, we who loved you also. God Bless you.
I HAD THE LUCK TO SEE IN CONCERT RONNIE MANY TIMES AS DIO AND BLACK SABBATH AND HEAVEN AND HELL , I WILL NEVER FORGET WHEN I FIRST HEARD ( LONELY IS THE WORD) FOR THE FIRST TIME BACK WHEN I WAS 12 IN A MEXICAN ROCK STATION AND IT STILL GIVE ME SHIVERS, LOVE THAT SONG, I KNOW PEOPLE THAT LOVE DIO JUST FOR HOW HE USED TO TREAT PEOPLE IN CONCERT, VERY POLITE AND A TRUE GENTLEMAN LOVE ALL HIS WORK WITH ELF AND RAINBOW AND SABBATH AND DIO HE WAS A TRUE HERO TO ME AND HIS MUSIC ALLWAYS BEEN THERE WITH ME WHEN I NEED A FRIEND FOR MANY PEOPLE OTHER KINDS OF MUSIC ARE JUST THAT MUSIC, FOR US METALHEADS METAL IS LIKE A FRIEND LIKE THE SHINE OF LIGHT THAT GUIDE US AND KEEP US SAFE AND IN CONTROL, WE ARE A PROUD BUNCH BUT NOT FALSE PRIDE WE LOVE IT COUSE IS SOMETHING SPECIAL AND RONNIE WAS ONE OF THOSE WHO REALLY GAVE MANY OF US HOPE AND HAPPYNES, THANK YOU RONNIE FOR ALL THE GOOD TIMES AND HOPE YOU KEEP ROCKING FOREVER, DOWN HERE WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU AND LOVE YOU, STAND UP AND SHOUT!
We mourn. We grieve the loss. We shed a tear, or two. We send our condolences out to his immediate family. And the same goes for his musical family: Geezer, Vinny, Tony and to all the guys who were in any of the multiple “DIO” band line-ups. We millions of fans prayed he would slay this dragon, and go one to make more great music. Alas, it was not meant to be. The only solace is that his brave battle with stomach cancer ended peacefully surrounded by loved ones. In time, the immediate sting of loss wil fade and instead of missing the man, the talent, the majestic voice of Ronnnie James Dio we will celebrate his greatness without the bitter sweet sentiment of a lost icon, but with the full ferver of the Rock N’ Roll spirit. So when that times comes for you, pull out that Vinyl. Find those cassettes or CD’s. Fill up your iPod and rock out to one of the greatest voices music ever had. Thank you Ronnie for all the joy your music has given me. \m/
Geezer, as a fellow Brummie I remember well the first Sabbath gig at the Birmingham Odeon with Ronnie. During Neon Knights…Ronnie slipped over on some water and fell at the front of the stage…the front row grabbed Ronnie and were not letting him go. A few roadies rushed on and both slipped on their asses also..much to our delight…now the crowd had Ronnie and a roadie. Geezer, Bill and Tony continued to play the Neon Knights riff for what seemed forever….eventually Ronnie got free…and sang the final verse. I think his comment was…”Welcome to the Birmingham Odean skating rink”.
It was a great night and everyone there could see you were all having the time of your lives…as we all were.
All I have read is so touching. Dio touched so many hearts through his music and his words. Long may he live in our memories and I know his music will never die. Rest in peace Ronnie you finally caught your Rainbow.THE KING IS DEAD, LONG LIVE THE KING OF ROCK AND ROLL.
Ronnie Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I first heard Ronnie’s “storming voice” it was like lightning striking my soul. Right to the core. Ronnie gave us power and magic, empathy and filled my teenage years with hope, and it made all the difference. If you had this effect on us Ronnie, my heart goes out to your truly blessed friends, family and your bandmates. Thanks for always being there, then, now and always. You are our Rainbow in the Dark. I never did get the chance to see him live.. which I’m gutted about! I just hope the remaining members do something in his honour. He deserves it.
Anyway, I’ll have a pint on him, and I’ll always continue to blast out his numbers.

I am lost without you. You are magic to me. Since the day I first heard Holy Diver I became yours. You are an inspiration, a God, an idol, a legend and an eternal love affair of mine. I have never seen or heard anyone like you. Your voice and your music penetrate me. You will be remembered always. Children of the future will know who you are. And you will live forever.
It’s an irretrievable loss for all of us. Ronnie was our guiding star which shone so bright! It’s hard to express all the feelings, there will never be such a man in the whole world. Ronnie was an example for us, he gave us inspiration. He’ll stay in our hearts forever…
Faithfully yours,

Stay heavy on heaven.
Our children should know the true musicians!
Russian people love you too.
I more or less grow up with his voice in the different bands he joined. It’s a big loss for music.
R.I.P.
Ronnie James Dio,
I am lost without you.
RJD, you caught the rainbow, I love you.
Your fan for eternity

It’s an irretrievable loss for all of us. Ronnie was our guiding star which shone so bright! It’s hard to express all the feelings, there will never be such a man in the whole world. Ronnie was an example for us, he gave us inspiration. He’ll stay in our hearts forever…
Faithfully yours,
Russian hard-rock band STONEHAND
